Dream: Anime mystery
Sep. 7th, 2005 06:30 pmI had several different dreams today during a nap.
In the first, I was with my parents downstairs as though it were any normal evening. We were talking about ordering Chinese food. I put in my bid for veggie fried rice and vegetable dumplings (which I have only within the last week realized existed at a local Chinese place- a fact I was thrilled about). Then I went upstairs to my bedroom to nap and had the dream below.
This part was very strange- like I knew the characters from a previous dream or from an actual series, but now that I am awake I don’t remember them from any other dream. They were all cartoonish/anime-style
There was a boss lady (some shipping company?) and a rather large, burly guy who works for her (ships the items/drives/flies?). At times I seemed to be seeing from both their points of view. Then there was a gay guy named Tom. Blond hair, thin, wears sweaters. He always has this ratty grey tabby cat jumping on him and clinging to his sweater comically. In my dream, I remember something like “Oh, right, I remember that!” meaning that clearly I knew that funny aspect of the character before from some series or other dream or something.
It was Christmas and they were sent a huge bookcase-size crate of different hot peppers as a present. Then they went to an office building to try to track down who sent it. They ended up sneaking through a stairway, on which they were trapped or simply stopped to think for a long time. I remember boss lady (from her POV) going up to Tom and running her hand up his forearm, pushing back the long sleeve of his grey cardigan and remarking about how thin he was getting. I also seem to remember he resembled Wil from Big Brother 5 at that point.
Then they left the stairway and walked aroun the parking lot, trying to find one with specific tags/marks or something. This ended up to be important somehow to some other important group they had a run-in with (the FBI, I believe). The three were able to at least help in narrowing down the area/parking lot if not finding the car altogether.
Then later in the dream, I remember thinking “Oh right, that was just a dream, like the other anime character one. Man, I wish I'd been able to finish that one and find out who sent the mystery gift!” I specifically recall saying to myself "And ordering food must have been a dream too. Damn, I'm hungry!"
Note: I woke up a few times in-between with my stomach rumbling with hunger :-)
