I had two dreams last night. This is the second of the two and extremely fuzzy. I don't remember the main part/reason but I do remember some elements. I was sitting out on a huge grassy area watching some sort of outdoor concert/presentation. I remember a movie playing and that they let the ending credits go on quite a while but still stopped them short. I think it was a war-related movie. At one point, an string quartet was playing and one member was my friend Jane from elementary school (in real life, who does play cello). They were sitting to the right side of the stage, facing in on the stage, not out at the people. In the center, after the music, two men were facing off behind podiums but only one spoke. He talked about a way to lead the country so convincingly that he was clearly a presidential hopeful. I remember hoping he would win but that the election was a while away. Then, later in the dream, I flashed back to the beginning, watching not as myself sitting out on the grass but getting a behind-the-scenes look so to speak. I saw the guy shut off the movie prematurely. I saw an old school teacher get to go up on stage and stand behind Jane in the wings and listen to her play. I saw the guys debating from the perspective of standing on stage. And then a saw the campaign manager come up to him afterwards and tell him he did incredibly well and would win. "Really?" "No," the guy replied. "But you did well. And there's a lot of time before the election." Possibly years. And somehow I felt like this was in the middle of the Vietnam era but they hadn't realized what an impact that would make politically.
